Why Does My Son Have A Bloody Pimple On His Chest?

my son has what looks to be a pimple on his chest. It s raised a bit and has a dry top to it with a blood red dot in the middle of it. no puss associated to it, just blood. had it for 3 plus weeks - not getting better. Covers it with a band aid so it won t bleed thru shirt. any thoughts?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
It could be pyogenic granuloma. It is a benign vascular swelling with episodes of bleeding. It could also be a non healing boil. Pyogenic granuloma needs to be cauterised with electro surgery or radio frequency.
You may ask me a direct query by clicking on this short url http://bit.ly/dr-j-chacko where you have an option of uploading a picture of the lesion which will help a great deal in diagnosing the condition.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
