Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of parosmia, a condition that is caused due to damage to the olfactory senses. However, parosmia is not always related to the underlying medical conditions, like sinus, polyp, deviated nasal symptom, tumor, etc., but also due to exposure to smoking, passive smoking, chemical solvents, etc. It can also be due to certain nasal tests that go deep into the nasal cavity, radiation, chemotherapy.

Get clinically examined to rule out any developing neurological problem due to underlying medical condition. Get biopsy of the sinus region, CT /MRI of the sinus region done. Get treated. You will be treated with zinc supplements, vitamin A, antibiotics, etc. Parosmia may take a longer time duration to heal. Nerves take a longer time to heal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
