Why Does My Body Temperature Rise After Drinking Whey Protein By Optimum Nutrition?

I started working out at the gym 4 weeks ago and bough some protein powder - Whey protein by Optimum Nutrition. I noticed that after my workouts when I take a scoop of protein powder mixed in a glass of water, a couple of minutes later my body temperature rises. Nothing alarming but somewhat concerning. I don’t really get a fever but my body temp slightly feels warmer. No other noticeable side effects though. I noticed this only when I take the whey protein post workout not as pre workout breakfast. Is this due to the intense workout session or is the whey protein causing it?

Whey protein powder commonly has no side effects when taken in appropriate concentration and quantity. People who take high protein diet have higher body temperature than those who take a lower protein diet. That is normal, nothing to worry. However, taking too much protein in the diet can cause harm than good.

You are suggested to take whey protein powder in quantity and concentration that is not too high since you are experiencing symptoms; it may help to make you more comfortable and get rid of high body temperature that you are experiencing. Yes, it can be due to intense stressful sessions. Calm down a little, be gentle with yourself while exercising. Don't stress. It will be good if you get a medical check-up done to rule out any developing cardiac problem, or any other pathology that my be causing you symptoms.
