Why Does Food Get Stuck Inside The Throat Post A Tonsillectomy?

hi i was just wondering, i had a tonsillectomy in 2014 the tonsils were quite large and so were the holes that were left. i still to this day get food stuck in the sides of my throat it doesnt matter how much fluid i drink whilst eating this still happens the food stays stuck for quite some time afterwards and im able to feel it. is there anything that can be done to help or stop this its driving me crazy
