Why Do I Have Swollen Lymph Nodes, Sore Throat And Ear Pain?

Hello, I started out with a sore throat, caugh and swollen lymph nodes..and then i woke up with severe ear pain that lasted a day and ever since, i haven t been able to hear out of it like it s plugged. One side of my face became numb, and now it s spreading and i feel pressure around the back of my head. It has been 5 days now and im starting to hear crackling now like it s getting better but still cant hear..should this be getting better not worse?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an ear infection. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using an antibiotic ear drop for local application. If the symptoms continue ,you may need a cycle of antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
