Why Am I Thirsty And My Urine Foamy?

I am 60 years old and I feel great because the weight is just melting off me without any effort on my part, but I seem to be quite thirsty and my urine is foamy, which it never was before. Should I be concerned? I don't have health insurance so I haven't seen a physician in some years.

Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Looking at your history and clinical symptoms, it appears to be diabetes mellitus.
The symptom of increased thirst with loss of weight and excessive urination (foamy) is classical.
I would advise you get your blood sugar and an HbA1C test done at the earliest for confirmation and treatment.
You need to discuss with your doctor regarding medications, if still in early stages - life style modifications (weight reduction and low carbohydrates diet with exercise).
Any further queries, happy to help again.
