Which One Among Dianne And Althea Is Better For PCOS Treatment?

Hi doc Goodafternoon. I was diagnosed w PCOS yr ago then i had undergone Transrectal utz. I took Dianne pills for 6 months then my menstrual cycle became regular for 3 months and after that it became irregular. I decided to consult recently Same dx PCOS and now the medication is Althea. and my question is which one is much better to take? Dianne or Althea? do they have difference? Thanks i would greatly appreciate your response

Hi,

Dyne is a combined hormonal contraceptive used in PCOD for regulating menses with the hope to start ovulation spontaneously following the withdrawal of the drug.

Althea is a single drug hormonal preparation. It contains Cyproterone acetate &is used to treat PCOD with androgen-dependent conditions like acne or hirsutism.

This helps PCOD by controlling androgen dominance &thereby start having female hormones action to start with ovulation following the course.

Selection of drug depends on symptoms like Gy. In case of no benefit. One has to follow ovulation stimulates or surgery as options for treating paid.
