When Should Zentel Liquid Suspension Be Given?

We live in the Dominican Republic in a brand new orphanage. We brought our first boy home today and he needs to take Zentel liquid suspension? He has 4 doses for 4 days. When is the best time of day to give this? Should we administer it on a full or empty stomach? Thank you

Hi,

Zentel oral suspension contains albendazole which is an parasitic medication is used to treat parasitic worm infections. How it works is by killing worms that cause infections and stops the infection from spreading any further. Zentel oral suspension should be taken exactly as advised by the doctor. It may be given once or twice a day depending on the condition someone is being treated for. It may be given in the morning or evening. It is usually prescribed to be taken on an empty stomach but someone may be asked to take it with food for treating some conditions.

Follow the doctor's advice carefully to get the most benefit. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. This medication is usually makes someone feel better quite quickly. However, someone should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when someone feels better, to make sure that all parasites are killed and don't become resistant.

Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
