When Does Sense Of Smell Come Back After Removal Of Nasal Obstruction?
Hello! I just got operated 2 weeks ago due to a large obstruction in my left nostril that I ve had for years (a big bump that would occasionally switch to the right nostril). I can now breathe fine but i ve noticed that smells haven t really changed though. I can smell so much on my right nostril but on the left one its extremely faint. Do I have to wait before regaining the smell in my left nostril now that the obstruction has been removed? I m scared that this will be permanent. p.s I m 19 years old
Hi, Welcome to HCM, Loss of smell can result from a physical blockage of the nose ... Usually returns in few weeks say 2 to 3 weeks...but dont worry in your situation it can never be permanent... wish you a speedy recovery..
