There are a number of different causes of delayed period.
The most common causes are: (1) emotional stress or illness (2)thyroid disease (3)physical illness (4)high levels of a hormone called prolactin (5)side effect of medication (6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
IN light of your increased weight, it is possible that the delayed period may be related to polycystic ovarian syndrome. IN this condition there may be cysts on the ovaries and abnormal levels of certain hormones in the body There may also be a history of abnormal hair growth and acne
It would be best to see your doctor for an assessment which should include physical examination, blood tests and imaging
