What Would A CAT Scan Reveal About A Mass In The Left Testicle?

Hi my son is 21 and has a mass in his left testicle that occurred when on a 1000 mile bike ride and came on over about 1 week. ultrasound showed well circumscribed mass 1.6 x 1.4 x 2.4 cm which continued to diminish until it is 8mm now. we have the opportunity to have a cat scan done and I want to know what this will show about the tumor not just the node spread. will it show torsion, hernia or infection? I feel it is useful and time is of the essence as he has already waited 6 months. 7 ultrasounds later the spot is stationery at its current size.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is clotted blood and blood clot is contracting. If it is not causing pain to child then leave it as it is. If it is painful then meet a surgeon.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
