What To Do For The Dark Spot On The Nose?

I have a darkened spot (looks like a small bruise) on my nose where glasses would lay. I don't wear glasses though. The skin changes sheen on th spot. My regular skin has a shine to it.. and the darkened spot is dull. I am really worried about this spot can you tell me if it is serious?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dark spot on the nose which occurs when sebum get accumulated along with dead skin and bacteria in clogged pore of sebaceous gland. It can also occur due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation response . Need not to worry. You should start with Accutane as it contains isoretinoin and is used to treat severe acne. Exfoliate your skin once a week to remove the dead skin from your face. Drink plenty of water and apply cold compresses. Apply betnovate on acne twice a day for 2-3 days. If condition doesn't start getting better in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotic course clindamycin. You should go for chemical peeling and laser therapy. Take diet rich in fruits , green leafy vegetables and salad. Doctor may also refer you to general surgeon for hematoma , who may drain it or prescribe anticoagulant .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
