Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am case manager working with a 16 yo male. He has the diagnosis of ADHD. I am trying to find what medication he should be on and what are the signs of ADHD. I am seeing some other things going on with this child. Note that he has not been reevaluated for several years and the takes the same medication he was prescribed eight years ago.
As you mention ADHD is characterized by persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning. Drug used to treat it are methylphenidate, clonidine, atomoxetine, but these are prescription only drugs so you need to consult psychiatrist for these drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ramchandra Lamba
