I am 66 and postmenopausal (7 yrs). I know my vagina isn t acid enough (can t have estrogen or estroven due to past breast cancer). By the smell I thought I had Gardnerella but when went to my Dr. she did a vag/cervix culture and it came back Enterobacter aerogenes. I am presently taking Cipro and the smell is disappearing. I have been using RePhresh gel for about 8 mo. Is there something else I can do to prevent a reoccurance? Did the unbalanced ph in my vagina cause this infection? I do not have sexual intercourse. I take an oral probiotic and have decided to eat yogurt on a routine basis. Any suggestions?
