General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician, I would like to tell you that resting pulse of a breastfeeding woman is same as that of a normal person 70-75 beats/min. Further, to confirm or rule out pregnancy, you can take blood pregnancy test or a USG scan to confirm it for sure. I would also advise that you should use extra protection during breastfeeding period of 1 year after childbirth like condom or Copper-T.

Because, during this period, menses seems to be irregular and there are high chances of unwanted pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
