What should be the follicle size to conceive?

Hi Doctor, My wife had miscarriage 1.5 years back and we are trying for a baby now but not to repeat the same situation we are taking the precautions before proceed. Now when she checked the blood we found Rubella Igg is 420, is there any issue for this for getting pregnant and also she went through the Follicle scanning. Her cycle is above 35 days and on around 20th day when we scanned follicle size was 15mm and again scanned 2 days after that time ovulation happened. We know normal size should be 18-22mm. Now we are so confused and she is so tensed. Please help what we need to do.

Hi,

+ ve Rubella IGg test indicates she has Rubella antibodies in her blood...She is immunity for Rubella. So she does not have any risk (pertaining to Rubella infection) & can conceive safely.

About ovulation size of follicle ...it should be between 18 to 24 mm. Your wife needs some hormonal supplement (injection pibergen) as long with Clomiphene citrate to stimulate follicular maturity. Please consult a gynecologist for suitable medicine & dosage for her.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
