You should ask his doctor to set up an appointment with one of their dietitians they can help and give you pamphlets on a good diet. You may also be able to find out by googling something like diets for heart surgery patients, something should come up.

I had open heart, quadruple bypass surgery one year ago. I have been doing good as far as my heart goes, exercising , eating better. all my numbers are good, cholesterol, glycerites, BMI, weight and such. I was wanting to know if I could go white water rafting without worry, or ride some of the big water rides at the water parks and maybe roller coasters
My Dad is 65yrs old & has undergone spinal surgery & as he is overweight, at times he feel very tough to do his activities on his own. What is the diet-plan he should adopt to look at reducing weight so that he should be able to walk-around & do his activities on his own ?
