hi dr i have a niece who is just 9 month old.according to the measurment the size of her head in this age is 41 cm and it s smaller than usual siza.but all her development are good.i want to know what we should do and if there is a big concern a bout her. thanks for your answer

The third percentile for girls at that age is 41.3cm. There are several causes for microcephaly (small head) They include intrauterine infections, hyperpyrexia, genetic causes, etc. A serial recording of head circumference is required.You should not worry but you should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause.
