What Prognosis Is Recommended For Fibromyalgia After Discontinuing Anti-depressants?

I have Fibromyalgia I suffer with Depression.....trying to find the right antidepressant that does not cause diarrhea. I have currently been on Effexor for the last two years and suffered with diarrhea so bad I could not leave the house. I have no gaulbladder. I eventually started passing just gaul and no solid Howell movement. My Dr. Did not feel that the Effexor was the problem so at my request he had taken me off. I no longer have the diarrhea and I m working with my GI Dr to try to help with this problem. My goal is to be able to tolerate an antidepressant without these complications. I am currently on no antidepressant after twenty years.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Complete cure is not possible. You can continue analgesics and can lead a near normal life. Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety as it can worsen the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
