Hello,
Cataract surgery is a simple day care surgery, hence it is one of the simplest surgery. Since you have mentioned that your father has undergone bypass heart surgery, I advice you to get his cardiac evaluation by a cardiologist and who after examining can issue fitness certificate for surgery.
If he his taking aspirin, some surgeons prefer to stop the drug atleast 5 days prior to surgery.

Now a days phacoemulsification is the surgery of choice for cataract, it costs around Rs. 25,0000-Rs. 35,000 in Mumbai/INDIA.

Thank you
