What Needs To Be Done To Remove A Broken Glass That Has Penetrated In The Skin For A Prolonged Time?

My daughter stepped on glass 2 months ago and now there seems to be glass that was left inside. Her foot has healed but its soft and have a dark tint to it. Her NP referred her to a general surgeon. How will this procedure probaly go and what kind of recovery would she be looking at.

Thanks,

Worried mom

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
The surgeon will first examine the patient and if he is sure the glass piece is inside then he under anaesthesia he will incise and remove the glass piece and close the wound.
It will take about a week or 10 days for complete healing.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
