What Medication Is Suggested For Diarrhea And Vomiting?
my ten year old son has has over 10 bouts of combined diarreha and vomiting in the last 2 months, that lasts for a couple of hours and then he seems fatigued but fine. He does not run a fever during these episodes. He also has only grown a quarter of an inch in the last 12 months. We are worried if these episodes are a symptom of something that may be causing a nutritional deficiency

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. By what you quote i think he should be evaluated thoroughly. I have few questions and suggestions for you -
Questions:
1. What was his birth weight?
2. What was his weight before this started 2 months back?
3. What is his current weight?
4. Does he have any other serious infections till now?
5. Is there any family history of irritable bowel disease or inflammatory bowel disease or celiac disease?
Suggestions:
1. He needs work up for celiac disease/ inflammatory disease?
2. Needs work up for immunodeficiency?
3. He might require a upper GI endocscopy and colonoscopy and biopsy.
4. possibility of irritable bowel disease is to be considered.
