What Leads To Fainting Despite Suffering From Tooth Abcess?

I passed out on Friday 33 times, I just remember trying to get up, husband said I was seeing bugs everywhere which I don t remember, he put me to bed, I don t remember, went to er yesterday, they did ct scans & labs & sent me home. I have a tooth abcess on a tooth that swells down my neck so I was put on penicillin vk but I m on many other meds. Including Lupron shots every 3 mos. I am letting it wear off which will start the 25th of June. Its been a poison. But I have no clue why I passed out. I went to the dentist that morning which they just xrayed & did a cleaning. I threw up Thursday late from a bad stomachache and then next thing I know I was trying to pull myself up on things than I d pass out again Its scary and them not really finding anything yesterday and wanting to sleep & sleep & sleep with blurry vision & slurring speech still isn t right. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have tooth abscess and have a history of being on Lupron shots, side effects of Lupron shots can cause nausea, sweating, headache, sudden slurring of speech, increased thirst, weakness, fatigue, etc. You are suggested to inform your treating doctor about the side effects so that follow up clinical examination can be done and necessary changes in the prescription medicines can be made so that you have less discomfort. Blurry vision and symptoms of fainting can occur due to low blood pressure, low blood glucose, dehydration, etc., also. Get your vitals checked. Take warm beverage and stay well hydrated to supplement your sodium-potassium balance.

Stay well fed to avoid acid reflux. since you have a tooth abscess, take liquid food or semi solid food. Take antacids & PPIs to avoid acid reflux as it may trigger vomiting. Get clinically examined by a dentist for your tooth abscess, you will need antibiotics or minor surgery to drain the tooth abscess of required. Maintain your oral hygiene.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
