What Leads To Bowel Incontinence?

I have had intestinal issues for 10 plus years now. I have taken fiber regularly, which seems to help a little, but not consistently. There are days when I need to be very close to a bathroom or days when I have the sudden onset of the need to have a bowel movement. These periods are unpredictable and effect what I do. Only recently have I thought about the possibility that I may be lactose intolerant. I have stopped having dairy products for the last 2 weeks and have had the best 2 weeks I have had in a long time. Could this all be in my head? I am allergic to nothing else. I am 45 years old and otherwise healthy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear!

Welcome and thanks for consulting me. I have carefully worked through your case, and realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.
If leaving dairy products help you, its best for you. Go like that and see for a month. But lactose intolerance comes up very early in life with the start of the formula milk and is diagnosed there and then and baby is shifted to non dairy products. So I recommend you to leave dairy products and use lactose free diet in future.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback and five star ranking, so that I may be in a better position to help you in future too. Go to my profile to write a Review regarding your experience with me here at my Virtual clinic. You may also "Ask me a question" directly from my profile for better and prompt assistance.

Regards!
