What Is The White Spot With Red Center On My Shin?

1 week ago, I noticed a small spot on my shin bloody. I hadn t hit my leg on anything. Nor did I scratch to create the bleeding. I dabbed the spot with an alcohol-soaked tissue. Today, 1 week later, the site is round, whiteish hole in the center with red around the perimeter. Any ideas what this could be.?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

To be able to say anything concrete about it, I would need further information:

Where do you live, how old are you? Did you travel to a tropical location lately? Do you have any other diseases? It might be a parasite, infection or even something else.

A picture would also be helpful. In any case it can't hurt to show to your family physician or dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Christine Sauer
