Possible causes are like repeated pharyngitis or post nasal discharge or allergic pharyngitis with eustachian tube block or acid reflux. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams, avoid spicy food and alcohol. Get it done upper GI endoscopy, X-ray paranasal sinuses. Use tablet Monterleukast and Levocetirizine for five days. Review with reports or consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
