What Is The Treatment For Stinging Headaches?
i m having stinging headaches. its very rare but sometimes, I have stingy pain in spots in my head and then after about a few seconds, it goes away. I ve noticed it off and on for a year or two now. right now, i m having just stinging pain in the top of my head. I usually suffer with a migraine when i m menstruating or some sort of headache at the beginning and end of my cycle (ending now). Could this be the cause or something more serious?

A stinging headache on the scalp? or deep inside your head? It could be neuropathic in nature if it feels superficial. Something we call occipital neuralgia. If this is a symptom bothering you since long, then you only need to decide yourself. Is this pain frequent and severe enough to require treatment?
But if this is new, then you need to go to the doctor who will do some tests and may even involve intervention and then treat you accordingly. Please read about occipital neuralgia. This is my best guess, based on the information you provided. Confirmation will obviously need more detailed evaluation.
If you feel this is deep, it can be something serious. You need not to worry but a sudden thunderclap headache indicates something very serious. We call it subarachnoid hemorrhage. But I am very confident the chances of that are very low in your case rather it appears to be neuralgia.
