What Is The Treatment For Paraparesis And Incontinence?

i was injured with CES almost 9 years ago. for the first 2 years, i did not have any feeling or use of my body below my waist. i couldn t walk, i was COMPLETELY incontinent. it has taken me all of these years (9) to regain my ability to walk with canes! i still have paraparesis and parapalegia from my knees down. i have pain in my saddle and i am still incontinent. are there any surgeons out there that can help at this point? thank you. i willl travel to see any specialists.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Neurological symptoms will relieve on its own. At this point, if pain is the issue, then I suggest to consult pain specialist to relieve the pain with antineuropathic drugs. These are very good drugs and dosage should be given only after assessment. The drugs include Gapapentin or Pregabalin. These to be started only after proper consultation and check up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
