I live in NYC and we had a snow storm today. My neighbor car was stuck in the snow and I help her get it out. When I pushed the car from behind I developed a pain in my anterior shoulder and where the pectoral is muscle attaches to the upper arm.

It seems that you got pulled shoulder muscles and got strain on the muscles.
Apply hot application.
Take some analgesic, muscle relaxant medicines for 2-3 days.
Apply muscle relaxant cream as well.
