General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to 'Ask a Doctor" service.
High platletes count have many causes. However in your context the cause may be the splenectomy. Spleen is the site where older platletes are destroyed when new are synthesised. If shown is remover for this reason the count may be high to a certain levy level. If not too high it does not need treatment.
If very high then we need to see for other causes and then treatment may be needed accordingly.

Hope this help you understand your query. Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Kind Regards Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman
