What Is The Treatment For Hard Lump In The Toes?

I have a 4 week old son and today I noticed that he has hard knots at the base of his toes on the tops of his feet and was just wondering if this was normal. He has an appointment this friday and I didn't know if I should just mention it then or call tomorrow. Thanks!
