Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The cream that you have been using are not meant to be used for acne. They are meant for dark marks, left over from acne.
Moreover the night cream contains a potent steroid and is not for regular use because it can itself cause more acne.
A
dermatologist may ask this cream to be used for a short period time for acne marks because it effectively bleaches the pigment but never regularly.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on specific antiacne topical treatment e.g
benzoyl peroxide Or
clindamycin, twice daily only over active acne.
At night I usually ask my patients to use a topical Retinoid e.g
Adapalene gel, to the whole affected area.
Retinoids are first line treatment of acne. They are comedolytic and antiinflammatory; therefore prevent new acne as well as treating existing ones.
Topical retinoids also fade away the marks left over by acne.
You may use a gentle cleanser for face wash,twice daily. Over drying face washes and soaps cause rebound oiliness which neutralises the effect of washing.
I suggest you to seek another appointment with your dermatologist. Your dermatologist may also start you on
Oral antibiotics if your acne is inflammatory.
You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling from your treating dermatologist;
Salicylic acid peel is particularly good for acne.
