What Is The Treatment For Dysphagia?

Hi, i m nearly 10 weeks pregnant and for the last few weeks i have had difficulty swallowing food and sometimes even drink. I m hungry but when i try and eat it feels like i m gunna gag when i swallow. I am fed up of this, it s becoming worse i have hardly eaten in the last couple of days. Is this normal and is there anything that will help it? Thanks.

IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A VERY SERIOUS CONDITION ALTHOUGH IT MAY BE BOTHERSOME. MOST LIKELY U ARE SUFFERING FROM REFLUX OESOPHAGITIS- A CONDITION IN WHICH ACID FROM STOMACH REGURGITATES INTO UR FOODPIPE AND CAN CAUSE DISCOMFORT/ DIFFICULTY IN SWALLOWING/GAGGING/ BURNING.

NAUSEA(A FEELING OF VOMITING) IS COMMON IN FIRST 3 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY AND IT WILL SUBSIDE LATER. I SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING-
1. SLEEP WITH A THICK PILLOW UNDER UR HEAD TO MINIMIZE THE REFLUX OF ACID INTO YOUR FOOD-PIPE
2. EAT UR DINNER EARLY IN LATE EVENING. DO NOT EAT HEAVY MEALS LATE AT NIGHT
3. TAKE TAB RABIPRAZOLE 20 MG TWICE A DAY BEFORE FOOD
4. FOR A FEW DAYS ALSO U CAN TAKE TAB DOMPERIDONE 10 MG TWICE A DAY

I ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHETHER YOU ARE PSYCHOLOGICALLY COMFORTABLE WITH UR PREGNANCY OR NOT.IS THERE SOMEBODY TO TAKE CARE OF YOU? THESE FACTORS HAVE CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS

Hi there, pregnancy is likely to cause increased heart burn and vomiting sensations due physiological influence of hormones and also physical stress and pressure exerted by growing foetus in abdominal cavity. I wud suggest you to take cap.pan D once daily for a months in d morning before food and lie on the lateral aspect while sleeping rather than lying down on your back. But you will have to visit your gynaecologist and get evaluated as early as possible. Hope my advice helped you.
