General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Most prostate cancers (90%) are found when the disease is in only the prostate and nearby organs. This is referred to as the local or regional stage. The 5-year survival rate tells you what percent of men live at least 5 years after the cancer is found. Percent means how many out of 100. The 10-year survival rate for local, regional, and distant prostate cancer combined is 98%.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jay Patel, General & Family Physician
