What Is The Suggestion For Dizziness And Tingling In Arms An Legs?

I am 38 years old, non smoker, female, and in excellent health. Today, (I work at a school) was having lunch and got a wave of dizziness all of a sudden. Both of my arms were tingling and my legs. I went to the nurse and she took my blood pressure and was 167/98. Should I make an appointment to see my physician?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

Given the history that your blood pressure was recorded as 167/98 (which comes under the range of Hypertension), the symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to damage of nerve fibers secondary to increased blood pressure. this is known as Hypertensive neuropathy.
So, it will be advisable to consult your Physician at the earliest & get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Investigations like ECG, Renal function test, Lipid profile & Fundoscopy will be helpful in detecting any target organ damage.
Based on the clinical & investigation findings, proper anti hypertensive medications will be prescribed.
Till then, maintain proper hydration & nutrition status and avoid stress.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
