What Is The Suggested Treatment For Type 2 Diabetes?

Hello, I am a type 2 diabetic and have been for about 3 years. I have problems with my morning sugars today it was at 142. The doctor added januvia along with my other pills, do you think that this is going to help? If it doesn't then I will have to go on insulin which I am deathly afraid to do.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

The fasting blood sugar value of 142mg/dl. is higher than normal. Adding januva which is an anti-diabetic drug, which definitely helps in reducing sugar levels. AS long as sugar levels are under control, the same medicine continues. Only when the sugar levels are only not under control for long time, then only you need insulin. Not to worry much now.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.
