Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I scraped my knee playing sand volleyball on Saturday. I wasn t able to put anti-bacterial or clean it properly for several hours after the incident. Today my knee is swollen, the scab area is yellow, there is heat radiating from my swelling, and it is quite painful. I am sure it is infected. What is the best way to treat it now?

To suggest you on treatment we need to check it once with physical test and need to observe at least once to know level of infection. Yes as per your explaination it is defiantly infected. Here you need to take x-ray and check the level of infection. If it is deep then need to start treatment as early as possible. With anti biotics and anti inflammatory along with pain killer. Here I suggest to visit a orthopedic and start with medication. Do not start antibiotic on your own. As well you may need some wound clearance if its present, and need to drain pus from joint if it is there. As per my recommondation do not delay and take proper medication and treatment as early as possible. Take care.
