What Is The Recovery Time Taken For Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism?

I am tired I was diagnoised with bilateral pe about a week and a half ago. I am returning to work on Feb 15 . I am not sure I can keep up the pace that I was doing before. I am a dental hygientist that works in a fast paced office. Should I wait longer before returning to work? I do have alot of sick leave hours

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I believe you should take atleast a month before you get back to normal work. It takes sometime for the system to recover depending on what is the level of the PE and how many arteries have been thrombosed. Also, you should be sure that the anti-coagulation that has been given is adequate. Depending upon what you have been prescribed, you should make sure that the blood is thin enough for the clot not to increase in size. Feel free to ask again if there are any other queries. Take care. Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
