What Is The Recommended Dosage Of Aricept Drug ?

My sister is 82 and has Alzheimer's, she recently moved into an assisted living facility where she now receives Aricept. I don't know the dosage. I would like to know what this drug is used for and what the appropriate dosage might be so that I can ask the facility about it.

Aricept is Donepezil hydrochloride. The drug is a cholinergic drug and is used in various forms of dementias. Your sister is 82 years and is on Aricept.

Aricept is a cognitive enhancer drug and it is used in patients of dementia and cognitive impairment. The drug helps to slow down the progression of dementia.

I usually advise my patients to take 5-10 mg doses in two divided doses. This dose should be good for her. Consult a psychiatrist before starting the treatment.
