What Is The Purple Sticky Liquid Oozing From The Toe?

one night i wore heels for the whole time then my toe sort of swelled up and it hurt a lot and looked like the nail was going to fall off, this went on for a week, now it subsided. but when i press on my toe nail this purple sticky liquid comes out and i dont know what it is !

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to wearing of heel there has been continuous pressure in the area of the soft skin that led to inflammation causing swelling and pain..

As it has subsided but still on pressing there is discharge of sticky fluid that seems to be pus is an indication of lingering of infection in the area..

I would suggest you to consult a Podiatrist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like pus culture can help in confirmation of the exact cause of infection and can be treated accordingly..

You can be advised to clean the area with antiseptic solution and put gentle pressure to remove pus..
Apply antibiotic ointment over it..
Soak your feet in epson salt solution twice a day..
Avoid wearing high heels as well as tight shoes..
Avoid moisture accumulation and keep the area clean and dry..
