What Is The Prognosis For The Tremors In The Hand?

I had a concussion, as well as many other injuries, as a pedestrian who was hit by a car 30 years ago on the left side of my head. I am now 62. I have developed a tremor in my right hand that occurs when eating soups, salads, cereal, etc. Also when I try to use tweezers to groom eyebrows etc. What is the scoop? Thanks!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Tremors at 62 years with old history of hitting by car at age of 30 seems to be related to age related cerebral or cerebellar purkinjee cells changes, degenerative issues, thyroid hormone issues or else rather than related to old trauma.

Certain neuro chemical mediators as serotonin and acetyl choline play very vital role in controlling the finer movements of the peripharies and minor variation of the same can be presenting as tremors.

Kindly get a detailed neurological examination with expert neurologist for the evaluation of the underlying cause and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
