Hi, I am a 56 yr old female, post menopausal. I recently fell and had a total hip replacement. I healed fine and post surgery, my surgeon wanted to run labs to see if I was calcium deficient. I have my primary care Dr, run labs when I was 7 weeks post surgery. My labs came back and the calcium was high at 10.6, the Vitamin D was very low at 18 and the PTH, intact w/out calcium was elevated to 77. I returned to my primary care Dr a little concerned perhaps a parathyroid tumor with all three of these results. She advise these levels were normal after having a hip replacement Can some please give me confirmation if that is correct.
