What Is The Difference Between Chicken Pox Scar And Acne Scar?

Good evening. I have a 5 year old who is having chicken pox for about a week. Since I ve never had it and have never taken the vaccine, I might get it too. However, I don t know how to recognize the chickenpox spots and differenciate them from acne, which I always have on my tighs. What is the difference between the two and how can I know that I ve got the chickenpox? Also, how long since exposure may I have my first symptoms? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You might get chickenpox from your child since you have never had it.Generally the rash appears 10-20 days after being infected from varicella-zoster virus, it is generalized and consists on many itchy blisters that will become crusted some days after.Chickenpox usually heals without scarring, it doesn't need any specific treatment.
You can use:
-Ibuprofen if you have any fever
-Loratadine for the itching

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
