What Is The Clear Sticky Drainage From The Site Of Surgery?

I had a meningoma in2010 and it was removed .in dec. of 2011 i had to have surgery because the screw from the plate started to come through the skull. They said there was erosion of the plate so they placed a new plate. Just recently the site started to leak clear sticky drainage, there was no smellto it and i had no fever.what could cause this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Drainage of clear odorless fluid from the surgical site has to be investigated.
This could be due to seepage of CSF from the surgical wound site.
You need to consult your neurosurgeon at the earliest.
Imaging studies like CT scan may be required to look for the defect.
This could be due some abnormality of plate or some abnormality of the surgical wound.

Thanks and take care
