Continuous coughing fits may result in vomiting, and phlegm may present as a foamy mass. Do get a consultation from a physician and an obstetrician also, so as to be relieved of cough. Straining while coughing increases intra-abdominal pressure which may result in stress incontinence, leaking of urine, later on. Additionally any infection in the mother has a chance of being passed on to the baby.
