What Is The Cause Of Burst Eardrum With Severe Cough?

I was just diagnosed with aute bronchitus. I have had extreme cough even to the point of peeing my pants with the bad coughs. My left ear has been ringing and the dr. said my coughs are bad and the eardrum is burst. Was it one of the bad coughs that could have done it.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Bronchitis can be viral or bacterial with viral bronchitis being more common. These infections can be associated with problems in other aspects of the respiratory system or in in the ears.
It is possible to have a upper respiratory tract infection (such as bronchitis) along with an ear infection.

It is possible that co existing infection is the reason for the rupture.

I hope this helps
