General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to rib fracture.

For further assessment you may require chest x ray, pulmonary function test after chest physician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Continue breathing exercises.

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
