Hello,

I may need to know more about your history to rule out any meniscal injury. So do you play any kind of sports?

This pain can be a meniscus injury, and could be patellar pain syndrome if you have pain while going down so it is mostly patellar and if you get the pain while going up or upstairs so it is mostly meniscus.

No worries start with hot packs and some quadriceps exercises.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
