HELLO
WELCOME TO HCM
DEAR PATIENT
LEFT BEST POSITION NOW FOR YOU...
It turns out it is true that while you're pregnant, sleeping on your back is less than ideal. After about the 20th week of pregnancy, when you lie flat on your back, the weight of the fetus bearing down can put pressure on a major vein, the vena cava, that delivers blood to the heart. If there's pressure on the vena cava, blood flow to mom's heart slows down, which means that blood flow to the baby slows down, too. Not good.
The best position to sleep during 20th week of pregnancy and thereafter is on your left side . I know it is not possible to sleep on your left side throughout . So, what you can do is take turns sleeping on your left and right side, but more importance( preferred side) given to the left side. Totally avoid sleeping in the supine position( DO NOT SLEEP ON YOUR BACK).
Sleeping on your left side has 2 advantages mainly ----a) It reduces heart burn and promotes good digestion.
b) It improves blood supply to the baby
Have a happy pregnancy :)
