What Is Staphylococcus Aureus?

I HAVE TO SELF CATHATERAND SUSPECT THAT I HAVE A UTI FROM THE PROCESS. I SAW MY DOCTOR AND THE LAB RESULTS OF THE URINE TEST SAID THAT I HAVE A STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS. THE DOCTOR S OFFICE PERSCRIBED A MEDICATION CALLEDSULFAMETH/TRIMETHOPRIM 800/160MG TB (TWO PILLS A DAY FOR 10 DAYS. IS THIS A COMMON DRUG FOR THIS TYPE OF INFECTION AND DOES IT CAUSE DIAHREA AS I HAD A PRETTY SEVERE ATTACK LAST NIGHT?

Hi.
As per your case query of staphylococcus, my advice is -
1. It is a bacteria commonly causing urinary tract infection.
2. The antibiotic prescribed by doctor is proper. It can cause diarrhea. So if it continues then better stop it.

If problem persists then consult your doctor.
